The Power of Community
Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation (TBCF), a new client to GV, provides financial, educational, and emotional support for families that have a child with cancer living in Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo. Since February, GV has been working with them on a development campaign and as a result saw first-hand the life-changing impact this organization has on families in our community. 

Celebrating their 15th anniversary in 2017, TBCF is more committed than ever to the services they provide and the void they fill for so many families. Some sobering facts about pediatric cancer and the inspiring services TBCF provides: 

  • The average age of a child diagnosed with pediatric cancer is 6 years old

  • TBCF has provided support and services to over 1800 families since their inception in 2002

  • In 2016, over 33 beneficiary events were held on behalf of the organization On average TBCF gives $5,210 to families in need of financial support

  • 796 volunteers provided over 6800 volunteer hours in 2016In 2017, TBCF is focused on building a presence in Westlake Village and continuing their reach the tri-county areas

Finishing Touches....
Small weddings seems to be on trend of late and we have enjoyed working with some wonderful clients on their big day. Recently, a bride wanted a wedding that was elegant yet comfortable as they didn't worry too much about having a conventional party. They held a lovely luncheon overlooking the ocean with  family and close friends, and in lieu of a wedding cake had gorgeous cupcakes for guests to enjoy. 

When we look at the weddings we have produced over the last year, the emphasis has been on a celebration that allows the newlyweds, family and close friends to come together and enjoy the big day with minimal stress.
